As Kelvin walked up to an Flat building in the middle of London, he looked at his phone as he continuously texted back and forth with Justin, his roommate at the school, who acted sort of a manager role. Justin was on a technology or something scholarship, and was a prodigy known for that kind of stuff. Justin was the one who told Kelvin if there were any cases available anywhere, and who where the people willing to pay him to investigate. A concerned neighbor had called Kelvin. He got one where there was a serial killer loose, and that serial killer only had one friend, and that friend lived in the building. He was under surveillance in the building, because he would probably go for help to that one place. The flat was a block away from Bakerstreet, which Kelvin had heard of another detective there. Kel just hoped he had beat the detective to the killer. As he thought, he could see suited me walking into the building. He could see the badge on their pant leg, to see that they were police.

That made a predicament, as he didn't really want police seeing him, but he also knew that if he wanted solve this he would have to at least try. So he looked around, he knew what he had to do. As he walked towards a girl that was heading inside the building he acted like he was pushed into the girl. "Oh God, I'm so sorry." He said. "Oh no, it's fine." She said, opening the door to the building, Kel looked through the mailbox to see that one mailbox had no name. "Do you live here?" She asked. Kel nodded, "Yes, I'm your new neighbor, I live in the number six." He said. He then walked into the door and waited for the girl to walk one floor upstairs till he went to the apartment six. He could hear the police through the elevator. while they did that, Kel took out a tiny case from his backpack, that showed tiny lock picking tools. He walked there and started picking the lock to door and opened it. Revealing a empty apartment.

He made it look like he was living there, but then left and closed the door. He slowly walked up the stairs and crept over to look at the police men knocking on the door. "Mister Johnson, open the door please." The first detective said. But the door didn't budge. "Here let me." Kelvin said to the police, thinking it might be time. Kelvin then took a run and kicked the door down.

But as he walked in, Kel's eyes widened. There was a man hanging from a rope, that was tied around the air vents, and the other side around his neck, just swinging around. "Holy...."

Lestrade was sitting at his desk, munching down on a croissant. It was some wacko's idea to buy food for him whilst he was working, for a couple of years, he hadn't eaten much, so that what had spurred this ridiculous idea. But he did have to admit to enjoying multitasking, it had been much easier since Sherlock had solved all the hard cases…

Ring! Ring!

"There goes my peaceful Monday morning…" Greg sighed, picking up the phone. "Yes, Lestrade…what? Where? I'll be on my way."

"Sally, DI Lawrence…you two are with me. Police are already down there…"

Lestrade, followed by the other two, hopped into the car and Greg started the ignition. Driving had never been so stressful…but soon, they arrived and Sally had kindly offered to park his car, while he headed up the stairs to the door with the crime scene tape.

"What's a kid doing here?!" Lestrade exclaimed, seeing the fresh-face boy standing, gaping at the body.

He pulled on the overalls and put on some latex gloves, going around the crime scene. Forensics were swarming around the body, picking up key pieces of the puzzle, which Sherlock could find in an instant. He was glad that the consulting detective wasn't here. The body was there for at least three hours before they found it, and Greg safely assumed that it wasn't a suicide and was a murder.

"Get the kid out of here, please?" Greg sighed, seeing the boy still stand there.

Kel's face didn'tshow the face of a normal person who had just seen a dead body. He'd seen plenty of those, which was sad considering that he wasn't even eighteen yet. Even when the detective's started looking around and all. Kel was still not escorted out, until one of them told had sent someone to get Kel out. Which was weird, considering he didn't actually look like a kid, but maybe some people where smarter than they looked.

"One minute..." Kel said as he looked at the body, and the chair below it. The detectives ready to get him out until Kel talked. "What's this?" He walked over, putting on latex gloves too, because as a Private Detective, he would also carry those around.

"The chair." He said looking at it, on the ground. That was usual for a suicide, a chair being kicked. But Kel wasn't sure that it was high enough for the person to commit suicide on. He wasn't dare gonna move it, because he might get in trouble for contaminating a crime scene. Until he looked at the chair, and the model... He had that exact same chair back in his dorm room. He knew that from the legs to the base it was 21 inches. He took measuring tape, and went twenty one inches up, realizing that it didn't reach the hanging feet. So it could not have been a suicide.

"Yeah, someone killed this guy." Kel said, looking at the guy who was most likely in charge. "But you probably knew that already didn't you? Or maybe, you didn't. The door was locked, so I can see why you guys would think that." Kel continued to search around. "So maybe the serial killer you were looking for came and killed him? But that can't be, because you had this place supervised, and serial killers are somewhat intelligent. They won't go to a place they're most likely to be."

Kel felt like he was making progress. Until he saw a pencil shaving on the floor. He looked at it weirdly. It was straight under the guy's feet. How come he hadn't seen that? He looked around the flat... It was weird, because it seemed like this guy liked to keep his flat clean. There was even a cleaning robot going around the house... How come no one had turned that off yet? It was one of those little circular ones that vacuumed the house by itself.

The cleaning robot started going towards him, towards where he had exactly found the the pencil shaving. And it stopped right by a large tubed trash can that looked like it had fallen over against the wall.

"Wait a minute!" Kel said looking at the guy who Kel knew as Lestrade. "No way..."

Kel didn't care at this point, he grabbed the trash can, and put it right under the feet of the victim. It was a perfect fit. His feet where on the trash can. That was turned over, explaining why the pencil shaving was there. Because he had put the open part on the ground, and the back part on top.

"Alright, now look at this." Kel said. As the can was right under the victim. The vacuum slowly came back, and hit the trash can down, and started rolling it over to the wall Kel had found the trash can.

"That's- That's how he died. I was wrong... This was a suicide. He just used the chair to get on the trash can and probably got the vacuum to hit the trash can." Kel explained. He was a bit rusty, thinking it was a murder at first.

"Welp. There you go. Case closed... See ya!" He said with a snap and walked out the door, some of the police men looking at him in awe. Then he went to the elevator and hit the button, waiting for it.

((Don't worry. This isn't the end of the thread xD. This was just sort of a perlude case. The real case will start now. Just something to give your character a taste of how Kel solves things xD.. Hope you are okay with that.))

Lestrade glared at the retreating form of the boy, a police officer approached him cautiously, knowing that look all too well. It was that look of disapproval mixed with some admiration, somewhere.

Lestrade continued around the scene for a couple of moments longer before deciding to wrap the case up. He was tired and had another Sherlock-wannabe. Greg spotted the boy and entered the lift with him, hands in his pockets.

"Impressive stuff, would almost compare you to a friend of mine." Greg huffed, running a hand through his hair. "If you would like to come back to the station, I just need to ask you a few questions."

Lestrade walked out of the lifts, before the doors slid open fully. He wanted to get to his car before the boy had a chance to ask him any more questions. The main question that stuck in his head was that he wondered whether Sherlock had seen the crime scene and the boy was his new flatmate…no, it would be unlike the detective to be accepting flatmates again after John had left the flat.

"Down here please." Lestrade walked into New Scotland Yard, nodding slightly at all the other officers that were in the lobby of the building. "Aren't you supposed to be at school…?"

He hadn't even asked his name, "Sorry. Greg Lestrade and who might you be?"

((Sorry it's short, if you want I can add more.))

((Naw it's fine xD))
Kel had wanted to escape this moment. But he knew that wouldn't be smart, they had already seen his face. He also didn't have a good reason to run from the police, because
A) He would look like an idiot, because the cops wouldn't chase him
B) Repeat A.

So he sighed and decided to go to Scotland Yard, it might be time to let people know that the child detective was back in business. This had been his first case since solving the last kidnapping case since he was eleven. Which was strange. So he did go.

He snapped back to reality when the inspector had asked him wasn't he supposed to be at school. "It's four o'clock sir. I ended school two hours ago." Kel said. Damn, maybe he didn't look as old as he thought he did.

"Yes, Inspector Lestrade." Kel said, knowing who he was. Kel had actually met Lestrade when he was a kid, back when his father was still a Scotland Yard inspector. His dad always said Lestrade had the talent to be on top. "My name is Kelvin Westfield." Hoping to shed light on who he was. The moment he mentioned Westfield, he saw a few peoples eyes widen. It might be normal, his adoptive father was a great inspector in Scotland yard.

((My post sorta sucked too.))

"Kelvin Westfield?" Sound familiar? His father was your temporary boss, you grey-haired idiot. Even Lestrade couldn't stop the surprise leaking out from his voice. He didn't really have anything else to say now, all words lost by the fact that it was a son of the inspector.

"Of course…no wonder, it's been a while since I saw you. You were…?" Lestrade smiled, pressing the button to the lifts, he was too exhausted to be using stairs and in his old age, his legs couldn't really cope all too well.

Lestrade got to his office, sitting down in his black leather chair and spun once around as if physically collecting his thoughts. Kelvin Westfield…would he know of Sherlock Holmes?

"Does…Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes, ring a bell?"

Right now, he was distracted, case files were in his face and forcing him to look at them. Most of them were robberies or theft, very few murders or serial killings…until now. The folder at the end was the most intriguing read, recent as well. A serial Killer going by the name Scar, his MO was that he would wait for the scars to form before throwing them out and hanging them by the throat on the road lamp post.

"Scar…I was on that case--Hang on! Sally! This case was closed back in 2001! Why the hell are we reopening a closed case? The guy's dead!" Lestrade yelled, not bothering to get out of his seat. He glanced to Kelvin and shrugged, as silence was the only response. She had gone out to another crime scene, he sighed.

"Unless he's actually alive…or its a copycat killer. Highly likely…" Lestrade placed his head into his palm, irritation radiated off him.

((Sorry xD))

Of course Kel knew who the hell Sherlock Holmes was. Sherlock wasn't the only Consulting Detective, even if he had invented the profession. "Who?" Kel asked, he was also a pretty good liar, (or actor as some would call it)

Kel took a look over the case file. "If it was a copycat killer, this case wouldn't have been reopened. A new case would be opened. But since it is, we have to use both possibilities in our investigation."

((Sorry for the crap post xD))

((No Problem))

Greg decided to get out of his chair and stare off into the distance. Although, he was listening into what Kel had to say, he smirked as he tried to pretend that he had no clue to who Sherlock was.

"Liar." He said. "Anyhow, the case would have been opened as then the officers are aware of what the MO they have to be looking out for."

His phone buzzed and he reached into his pocket to pull it out and answer it. "Lestrade….no…I'm on my way."

He looked at Kel, a raised eyebrow as he contemplated for the kid to join along in another investigation. Sighing, he flicked a hand towards the door. "We've got a case, outside Hamleys. Looks like the MO. What do you say?"

Lestrade headed down the corridor, down the stairs, his knee acting up. Trying his hardest to not look like he was suffering in any pain, he continued down the stairs until they came to the carpark. He slid into the driver's seat and revved up the engine.
